Well worth the drive. Great views! We stayed for one night and found the rooms to be clean and comfortable and the food to be amazing. My burger was the best I’ve had in a long while. The stars were beautiful and we woke up to a rainbow. The manager, Jack, was friendly and helpful.

It’s a quick drive to the Mt Sunday trail, which was incredibly fun. Be warned: it’s windy!

We stayed at Mt Potts for 5 days, 4 adults and 4 children. Needless to say we absolutely fell in love with the location, the people and the charm of the area. The stag lodge was well stocked and we were able to find everything we needed.

It's a great place to situate yourself if you're planning to disconnect and enjoy the back country and explore the mount sunday area. The rooms were comfy, toilets were clean and everyone was so friendly and helpful while we were there. There's a nice little stream right at the lodge and plenty of nice grass for the kids to play and picnic.

Can't wait to go back!

We stayed one night in a powered campsite, loved it. Staff couldn’t have been more hospitable! Amazing, peaceful location. Stay here & have Mt Sunday to yourself in the morning 👌 Scenery is incredible regardless of whether you’re a Lord of the Rings fan or not!

Amazing views, stay here for 3 nights in one of the 7 new refurbished ensuite-rooms, very nice - like a good hotel. You didn't expect such rooms here in the middle of nowhere!
Gentle host, it is a really good place to stay here. Also powered and unpowered sites available. And Edoras (LoR) is near by.
